Norfolk Wildflowers 2002

This was my best meadow in my 15 years of trying. To celebrate and brag a little, my daughter helped customize a sign we picked up half price at Ace Hardware
Here's what the meadow looked like after raking up the debris from the year before and expanding it a little bit.
One of two secret ingredients - Seed Aide
Seed Aide is similar to the fluffy stuff you get in bags of grass seed used to repair sections of your lawn. It has the fertilizer and cellulose mulch, but without seed of any kind . I knew I needed something like this to hold in moisture and keep the seed from being blown away in the wind. I scoured the internet and finally found a place that would sell this by the bag ( I only needed one 50-pound bag.)-http://www.schultz.com/soilcover.htm
(The other secret ingredient is a pound of pure seed from American Meadows- http://www.AmericanMeadows.com)

Mid-August. Too much green , but the small sunflowers were new this year. They ended up being pretty spectacular.

Mid-October - the Cosmo's are lookin' good.

Late October - the Cosmos' stick around for weeks. The picture doesn't really capture the color.

Rick's Meadow moved him to song!
